She is now illustrating and exhibiting artwork as well as writing and lecturing in schools and libraries. She is married and lives in New York City and is the proud mother of two daughters, four grandchildren and two grand-dogs and a grandbird.

"I know exactly when I decided to become a writer because I wrote it down. In my seventh grade diary I wrote: 'When I grow up I want to become a gernalist. I went to the library and got a pamflet on Gernalism for Boys.' Spelling didn't count nor did not finding a book for girls."

"I had a great time writing, WE'RE PAINTING because I love to paint, especially with my grandchildren. I want to share that love of the rhythm and joy and wonderful messiness to help children, parents and grandparents and teachers relax and enjoy their own painting experiences."

She has been a member of SCBWI for almost thirty years. She also enjoys meeting SCBWI members from all over the world as she runs the SCBWI Buddy Program for SCBWI Metro NY for authors or illustrators visiting NYC. She loves the challenge of planning the Tuesday Professional Series and meeting the audience it draws.
