Chapter's E-mail Announcements
SCBWI members are invited to sign up to receive monthly or bi-monthly announcements of interest to our members.

Announcements we hope to include:

  • Information about critique groups or shop talk groups open to new members
  • Brief listings of events and courses of interest to our members



To Submit Announcement

To submit an announcement send an e-mail to:
SCBWI_MetroNY-owner@yahoogroups.com.

We cannot guarantee that all announcements received will be included in a Chapter mailing. We reserve the right to edit.



To Join with a Yahoo! ID:
  1. Click to join SCBWI_MetroNY.
  2. Login with your Yahoo! ID.
  3. You will be taken to the form "Join This Group" to join the mailing list.
    In the "Comment to Owner" section of the form, enter your name and zip code as they appear in the SCBWI Members Roster and list your SCBWI Chapter Name. This will help with membership verification.

To Join with an E-mail Address:
  1. Send an e-mail to:
    SCBWI_MetroNY-subscribe@yahoogroups.com.
    or
  2. You will receive an e-mail to verify that you want to join the mailing list.
  3. Click on the web site link included in the e-mail.
  4. The link connects you to the Welcome page for the site.
    IGNORE the large box that says "Join This Group".
    BENEATH that box, click on the link that says "Join the Mailing List" instead.
  5. The next page asks you for a "Comment to Owner".
    Enter your name and zip code as they appear in the SCBWI Members Roster and list your SCBWI Chapter Name. This will help with membership verification.

    OR

    Instead of clicking on the web link (as described in steps 3-5), you have the option of using your e-mail program and click to reply, then click to send. If you use this option be sure to reply to the "Membership Pending E-mail" described below.

Membership Pending E-mail

You will receive an e-mail stating that your membership is pending until we can verify your SCBWI membership. If you have not already provided your name and zip code or you want to correct something, please reply to this e-mail with your name and zip code as they appear in the SCBWI Members Roster and list your SCBWI Chapter Name.

Membership Confirmed

After your SCBWI membership is confirmed, you will be added to the list and you will receive our e-mails.
