Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, formed in 1971 by a group of Los Angeles-based writers for children, is the only international organization to offer a variety of services to people who write, illustrate or share a vital interest in children's literature. The SCBWI acts as a network for the exchange of knowledge between writers, illustrators, editors, publishers, agents, librarians, educators, booksellers and others involved with literature for young people.

SCBWI
Metro NY is one of over 70 regions, within the United States and throughout the world. When you join through the SCBWI Executive Office, you immediately become a member of your local chapter, with no additional dues. SCBWI members with zip codes that begin with 11 or 10 are automatically part of the Metro New York chapter -- that covers New York City, Long Island and parts of the counties directly north of New York City.
SCBWI
